Christopher Kane clutch

Have to be honest here, not sure what I think of this clutch by Christopher Kane...It's part of the AW2011 collection where he produced clothing with the same material, and how it has divided people! Some L-O-V-E it and reminisce about their childhood when they used to have toys that were similar to the liquid filled plastics, and others detest it for this same reason. What do you think, fashion gone mental or a genius piece of fashion accessorising?

Graduate Fashion Week!!

It's Graduate Fashion Week time again and looking through some of the fresh talent that has emerged from this years crop of promising fashion graduates, it is amazing how so many of them have created really inspiring and well put together collections. It also creates an opportunity for us to take a look at what is likely to be the new trends, as it is unlikely many of these students will not fly under the radar for much longer! Some key trends that kept reoccuring were the use of raw materials - sheepskin, feathers, etc. - and mixing different fabrics and textures to create contrast as well as shape in the garments. Perhaps as a nod towards the hugely successful collection by Sarah Burton at McQueen? Who knows, but whatever the reason, here's some of the best:

Giambattista Valli

When looking through SS11 collections, I have to say one of my favourites was Giambattista Valli. There's a lot of ivory, nude and black, very feminine and very classic pieces, my favourite being the nude coloured dress with a black band, very ladylike and beautifully made. I saw Olivia Palermo wearing a new season Valli and though she looked incredible, the pink shoes made sure the dress stayed looking feminine and young. Take a look for yourself!

My first pair of Louboutins!!!

People always say that you should never meet your heroes as you only stand to be disappointed. The anticipation before hand and then when you finally meet them they fail to live up to your expectations. I've never had any heroes - or none that have ever stuck - but if there's anything I have admired or wanted constantly in the past few years it would have to be a pair of Louboutin shoes, and the day has arrived! I've been lucky enough to get these beauties in the style bikiki 140. I can't wait to take them for a proper test drive!

SS11 Ashish!

I was definitely on the fence about this dress, but trying it on you can see how amazing it really is! Ashish is known for outrageous sequined clothing which always seem to have a sense of humour about them. Check out the catwalk video for SS11 - it's always good to see designers not taking everything too seriously but just pushing the boundaries with new and vibrant ideas!

Chhrristmas

Walking round Knightsbridge the other day I noticed some of the great window displays in some of the department stores, so this post is going to be dedicated to the hard working visual merchandisers who make them possible!

Browns by far had the best on Sloane Street...

Harrods...

And last but by no means least Harvey Nichols which were great but those heads are just downright creepy!

Kinky Boots

There's a new brand I have only just found out about, and they have some gorgeous shoes - these Gianvito Rossi thigh-high black leather boots are just ridiculous and so sexy at the same time! Rossi is Italian, he's the son of Sergio Rossi and worked with his father for  much of his life before starting his own brand, and everything he makes is of such high quality materials and the designs are truly feminine. These are definitely going on my fantasy shoes wish list.
